Were things so different in 1966 that tomato & steak sauce-flavored gelatin was really part of a “satisfying main dish”? The Woman’s Day Encyclopedia of Cookery apparently thought so!

If you are troubled that this photo cuts off the end of the recipe, know that you are encouraged to “garnish with dill and lemon wedges generously sprinkled with paprika” (so, I believe you’re being encouraged to garnish the garnish).
